Michelle Obama è ancora la first lady più amata della storia. E non solo. È anche la donna più ammirata al mondo.
Lo ha rivelato il sito yougov.com, che come ogni anno ha condotto un’indagine in tutto il mondo, su un campione di persone di qualsiasi età, sesso, situazione lavorativa e provenienza sociale per capire quali fossero le celebrità più ammirate.
I Paesi in cui è stato condotto il sondaggio sono quarantuno, tra questi c’è anche l’Italia. Così, mentre Barack Obama appare al secondo posto nella classifica al maschile (dopo Bill Gates, in testa da anni), sua moglie è prima, sia in Italia, che nel resto del mondo.
Si diceva che dietro ogni grande uomo c’era sempre una grande donna. Ora, le grandi donne non stanno più dietro. Stanno accanto. A volte, addirittura, un passo avanti. Su Michelle Obama c’è già chi scommette verrà presto eletta alla Casa Bianca.
A chi sfuggisse il motivo dietro al Michelle Obama effect, la sua autobiografia è rivelatrice. Becoming racconta tutti i fatti con precisione, ma non solo. È un resoconto onesto e sentito della vita di una delle persone più di spicco del nuovo Millennio. Dal libro non emerge solo la figura pubblica, emerge soprattutto una persona. Una donna vulnerabile, di colore, come spiega lei stessa “abituata a essere invisibile”, che viene da un contesto di povertà ed emarginazione e che ha lottato per ottenere tutto ciò che ha ottenuto.

Emerge una madre, che una volta installati nella Casa Bianca istruisce le figlie a rifarsi il letto ogni mattina e a non chiedere niente alle persone di servizio che non possano procurarsi da sole. Un’icona di stile, più di una volta sulla copertina di Vogue, premiata come donna meglio vestita al mondo, che preferisce sempre firme di stiliste giovani ed emergenti.
